You may not want to read this post:)

Sorry many are going through challenges right now, as I read my devotions this morning I thought you may need to hear this, or not!

I know you don’t want to hear it but people can really see Jesus best in us when we go through trials.

“And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you received the word in much affliction, with the joy of the Holy Spirit, so that you became an example to all the believers in Macedonia and in Achaia. For not only has the word of the Lord sounded forth from you in Macedonia and Achaia, but your faith in God has gone forth everywhere, so that we need not say anything.” 1 Thessalonians 1:6-8

Paul was writing the new church in Greece a letter of encouragement. He basically was saying guys you have impacted so many others because of the example you have lived while you went through the tough times.

We all go through tough times it is in these times where we sometime wonder, “God where are you?” It is in the middle of those times that are faith is seen most clear by others. Our lives are not our own and there are indeed times when the Lord allows us to go through things for His glory. “Why was this man born blind?” the disciples ask Jesus, “whose sin was it?” Jesus responded, “no man’s but that the Father may be glorified.” Please don’t develop a martyr complex about whatever situation you may be going through, but do remember that people are watching your life. There is an old adage about raising children, “More is caught than taught”. Our children, neighbors, co-workers, other church family are all looking at our lives to see how we will handle both the good and the bad that comes into our lives.

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16
